Support of conservation initiatives that promote the recovery and preservation of native flora and fauna

Ongoing Programs

To achieve our mission of rainforest conservation, the Cambugán Foundation is pursuing several projects:

Support of conservation initiatives that promote the recovery and preservation of native flora and fauna

The main goal of this program is to support initiatives for the recovery of flora and fauna in degraded areas.  This will be done by establishing research initiatives with public and private organizations that share our concern about the severe degradation of local lands and eco-systems.  Early initiatives will focus on determining the conservation status of a degraded area followed by proposals of methods to promote the flora and fauna recovery.

If you are interested in collaborating with us on this program, please contact the Foundation.

Nursery specializing in native species propagation project

The nursery project was launched in 2010 to:

  • Promote the importance of using native plants
  • Help avoid the extinction of native and endemic plants
  • Provide opportunities for students, researchers and the general public to understand environmental education issues and assist with the recovery of native flora and fauna in urban and rural environments.

In the coming years, we will work with governmental and not governmental institutions on projects focused on:

Impact of fire on native vegetation recovery

  • Reforestation projects to encourage restoration of degraded ecosystems
  • Research in water recycling, organic trash recycling and Watershed management
  • Research in green energy alternatives
